The new Jeep Compass is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that can generate 200 horsepower along with 221 pound-feet of torque. If you move up to the top-level Trailhawk you can get a low crawler-gear ratio and a Rock mode that can keep you in first gear and send torque exclusively to the wheels that can find grip. Jeep’s Selec-Terrain Drive Mode is standard and lets you choose Snow, Sand or Mud settings.
