Has This Jeep Wrangler Concept Gone Insane With Power? (Yes)

Then again, you'd be feeling a little bit screwball too if you were a ~4,000-pound compact sport utility vehicle sporting a 707-horsepower 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine and a six-speed manual gearbox.

You read that right.

This new Jeep Trailcat concept model--set to be officially debuted at the 2016 Moab Easter Jeep Safari this month--is essentially a normal Jeep Wrangler 4x4, but ferociously powerful. You might even say stupidly powerful.

Jeep has gone completely bonkers and put the Hellcat V8 (originally found in the high-powered Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcats) underneath the hood of their most iconic 4WD SUV. And while it's highly doubtful that this conceptual powerhouse will ever make it to a showroom floor in Troy, Detroit, Sterling Heights, or Warren, we can always dream.

Give this insane new SUV powertrain a listen, but beware: rumor has it if you hear the roar of the Jeep Trailcat, you'll forever be compelled to roam the woods beholden to nobody.

That's a risk we're willing to take.
